Op-Ed: Big Soccer
I recently started going back to Big Soccer's New York City forum after a little break. Ever though they try to do their best moderating the site and it is probably the best place for everything soccer, the trolls finally got to me.When the NYC forum opened up it came after many months of asking (begging?). When Big Soccer finally did approve the forum it immediately become a place for the anti-NYC FC forces to come out and complain how New York already had a team and that anyone that supported such franchise was a "plastic" or fake fan of the sport. Obviously not much was accomplish in the beginning on those forums while supporters of a NYC FC defended themselves from these accusations. Well I got burnt out from that. Luckily, I was able to connect with out NYC FC supporters that wanted to get organized before taking my hiatus.
Since my return to Big Soccer I have noticed a difference. Posts are staying on topic. Discussions have interested. For the most part, posters have been civil to each other. Hopefully it will last, but everyone knows that the internet is ground zero for anonymous trolls. But for now, I'll see you on Big Soccer!
